It's giving me The Walking Dead vibes...but vampires instead of zombies.
Are you ready everyone?! Sorry for my absence of any news...life got a little hectic. I bet you're all excited for the last season this Summer! It's giving me The Walking Dead vibes...but vampires instead of zombies. Actress Carrie Preston stoke to Entertainment Weekly on the loss of her television husband on this weeks True Blood. I know I will definitely miss ole loveable Terry BelleFleur :(
Preston learned her TV husband Terry, played by Todd Lowe, was going to die before the season began. “We were still on hiatus, and Todd just texted me and said, ‘Goodbye, Terry.’ I called him up, and I was like, ‘WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?’ We were just completely devastated. As Todd says, ‘Nobody wants to leave the party early,’” she recalls. “But we put ourselves in the hands of the writers and we trust them, and I think the way they chose to have that moment happen was very poignant and not like anything else that happened on the show. I think it was a necessary turning point for the show to bring it back to its original roots, which are grounded in relationships — in particular, human ones. What is making this season so special is that it’s also going back to [the idea that] the worst thing in this world is humans. In season 1, Rene [Michael Raymond-James] was the murderer, and he was human. Then we went off for many seasons into the worlds of the supernatural, and now we’re back into the world of the humans — both glorifying them in the relationship with Terry and Arlene, and vilifying them with the Governor and the Vamp Camp.” (“That was very philosophical. Sorry,” she adds, laughing.) Because they had to shoot Terry’s death scene from so many angles, Preston, who just scored an Emmy nomination for guesting on The Good Wife, estimates she had to weep for about eight hours. “I was very pleased with how they kept [the scene] very simple. In particular, I don’t know if you noticed, but there was no score,” she says. “They just let it be raw, and naked, and this moment when Arlene is singing to Terry was clear. It wasn’t amplified or enhanced by score, which is what people usually want to do in TV — over-sell something. Again, it made the scene stand out from other things on the show.” What’s next for Arlene? “We saw the moment where she was holding her husband as he died in her arms, now we’re gonna see the shock, and the aftermath, and the true coming apart. How do you not be unhinged?” she says. We will see Terry’s funeral, but not in this Sunday’s episode. “There’s a scene coming up that was just as challenging as the death. And then the funeral, which will come up somewhere down the line — also quite sobering, to say the least,” she teases. “I was constantly texting Todd photos when we were shooting the funeral.” SOURCE Enjoying the complicated relationship between Tara and her maker Pam? Actress Kristin Bauer Van Straten talks a bit about the new kinda love birds and other developments for this Season..
So Pam and Tara are getting pretty close ... As we were filming that arc last year and continuing this year, we started to see that Pam and Tara are incredibly similar creatures. They have a lot in common, despite Pam only turning Tara so that Sookie would repair her relationship with Eric. They relate to each other in a similar way. Now they're dressing similar, because it's like dressing your kid, and Rutina [Wesley] really liked that, because she had been in dire clothing circumstances for a couple of seasons, and it was fun to join the world of sparkly glamour people. They're both tough and not very cuddly people. Although they got to cuddle on the beach. But I could swear they mentioned that they had had sex, and I was trying to figure out when did that happen? Yeah! [Laughs.] I was, too. There have been many different revisions and different scripts, and there was a time where there was a version of a script where we did see more of that. But now, I'm not exactly sure when and where the writers are referring to. When would they have had time to do this? Before storming the Authority? I remember when I said, "We drank a bitch together, that doesn't make us Oprah and Gayle," so was it then? I don't think so, because that first kiss felt like a first kiss, back in episode twelve of last season. So I'm imagining it was on the beach in the first episode of this season. That's a possibility. What I'm imagining is that it was fairly tender and intimate, because that moment on the beach is a vulnerable moment that Pam allows to happen, and they're really bonding. Pam can be like a turtle and pull back into her shell, so I think this was a real first for Pam, to be vulnerable and have another human being — well, another being, another entity, comfort her. She's only had that with Eric. And he released her. So if Eric is Pam's daddy, he's Tara's grandfather. I realized that with Godrick, "Wait, you're my grandfather!" And that makes Nora my aunt. It's even more complicated and incestuous than somewhere like Hollywood, because I have an attraction for Rutina, who is my daughter ... [Laughs.] It's even more complicated with Eric and Nora, because Pam is experiencing a new level of jealousy. She liked things the way they were, always the two of them. That was working for her, and she doesn't want to share Eric with anyone. And it feels like a double betrayal, because she's shared her entire life with him, while he's kept secrets. When that happens, you start to wonder if the affection is equal. She didn't know he had this sister. She hasn't been quite as trusted as she wanted to be. She's had to fall back on who she was as a human being when she was on her own during tough times, but there's no way to completely erase the love she's had for over a hundred years for one person. That love, and other alliances and relationships, will be really tested this year. Last season, you finally got the Pam-Eric backstory. What have you lobbied the new showrunners to include this season? What I think would be really funny is to see Pam shoplifting, given that she never purchases anything! I think that would be hysterical. I started wondering, because in vampire lore vampires always have cool clothing, and they always have money, and that's part of the allure — they don't age, they don't die, they don't have our worries. And I thought, Why do they have money? Are they smart business people, because they've been around so long? That doesn't totally explain it. They probably just steal, because they can. If you can vamp speed, you can get in and out of a bank anywhere. And you're already living outside the human construct of the world, so it's not a stretch morally. Will the story lines eventually converge? Do the vampires we know and love get pulled into this Warlow conspiracy? A lot of story lines do start overlapping. Different people want to fight differently, and they don't all necessarily include each other. It's a very challenging year for relationships. And our guest cast is so exceptional that if I don't have a scene with them, I make sure to hunt them down after the table read or in the parking lot. That's what I did with Rutger Hauer after the first episode. I'm such a fan of his. I have such reverence for his work, and he's such an awesome, interesting person. Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies. So I just said, "I'm Kristin, I play Pam. We're so happy to have you. How are you doing? Are you enjoying your work?" I just gushed over him like a fan would. I hear you still have pieces of Pam's face from season four? [Laughs.] I do! I have the mold of my head, and every time I would pull off a piece of my face, they'd put it in a bag for me. So I have a lot of my face from season four. Sometimes I come across it in my drawer. Last year, I hit up the cast really hard for charity auction donations, and I felt so guilty about it that I haven't hit anyone up yet this year. But just in the last week, because we're going into filming the last episode, I started to think about it, and there's one particular prosthetic that I asked for, that I got signed, that I'll probably be auctioning. A prosthetic for ... ? Another character. Not necessarily a character I've been in a scene with. You'll know it when you see it. I've made friends with the special effects guys, and they've been very generous. I'm also inspired by the fact that I sold Joe Manganiello's modesty pouch. Actually, we call them a cock sock, but I thought, on eBay, I should call it a modesty pouch. You never know what parent might not appreciate cock sock. SOURCE Rumours are swirling that our beloved Eric Northman may be killed off this Season...Which will devstate the fangirls. (Including this one!!) So Alexander finally speaks about it....well a little bit?
“Someone is introduced, a new character, into Eric’s life,” dished the 36-year-old Swede. A possible love interest? “Maybe, maybe not,” Alexander teased in this recent interview. “But there’s someone new who’s suddenly part of his inner circle.” On the huge buzz that his beloved character will be killed in the sixth season, Alexander jested, “I’m right here!” Then he said, “We’re wrapping up. We’re now [doing] the last two episodes of the season. I’m obviously not going to reveal what happens in those last two episodes but Eric has been busy this year because, up until now, the humans have been blood bags. Eric doesn’t really care about humans and they can’t really do anything. But this season, for the first time in a millennium, the humans can actually fight back. The governor of Louisiana has figured out a way to be a real threat and fight back. So it’s tough for Eric. It’s not as easy as it was before, dealing with the humans.” SOURCE Actress Anna Paquin talks a tiny bit about what is going to be happening to Sookie this upcoming Season.
"Things left off in a pretty serious place in regards to where Eric and I leave Bill having just turned into this creature of the blood with these monster fangs -- and who the hell knows what that is? So obviously, that situation has to [play] out," Paquin teases in the new issue of Manhattan. "And we have new cast members this year, and that's always fun to have fresh blood, if you'll pardon the pun." She adds of the changes in store for her character Sookie, "This season, the writers and I have been making a concerted effort to help Sookie grow up, become a little bit darker, more accepting of her fate, more self-knowing." SOURCE Actress Janina Gavankar spoke to Hollywood Life on what to expect next Season with Luna outing the notion of shifters existence on world wide television. Will they be accepted or ran out of town? Who knows..
“She just outed everyone in the shifter community, so now the world knows there’s more than one supernatural creature on this earth,” Janina explained. “Holy. F**k. Imagine being a human watching that. As it is, you have to deal with the idea of there being vampires. This is potentially bad for every shifter on the planet.” Janina teased that the shifters will experience in season six what vampires had to deal with prior to the series premiere. “You remember when they ‘came out of the coffin?’” she recalled. “It’s like restarting the series all over again for that supernatural group.” Sam Trammell Reduced Janina Gavankar To Tears On Set While Janina couldn’t tell me exactly what goes down between Sam and Luna in season six, she was more than happy to cryptically share a recent on-set experience she shared with Sam Trammell: I wasn’t even in the shot with him — I was off to the side, like 100 feet away — and the stuff I could hear him doing was making me lose my mind. I was in a warm up tent 100 feet away, and I was crying. True Blood is A-game all day long. I have nothing but major love for him. I go so lucky that I got paired up with him. He’s tremendous. SOURCE Finally a Teaser for Season 6 that premieres in June! I have to say it's giving me 'Carrie' vibes with Bill walking around all drenched in blood these days ;) I'd also like to apologize for the lack of updates as life has been a little too hectic. But I will try to keep you all up to date from now on! The countdown begins...
? Apparently the writers of the show have put out feelers to cast a new female character this Season with the following description. Seems like Season 6 is all about new blood? I would prefer they stick to the originals but I guess they got bored? "The "True Blood" team is looking for a Caucasian actress in her early 20s to play Nicole Jannsen. A "do-gooder to the core" Nicole is naive, optimistic, and charming -- but her idealism is "ultimately vaguely idiotic and dangerous." Nicole is a key member of a band of well-meaning liberal advocates. The gang models itself after the civil rights activist Freedom Riders of the 1960s, a group of progressive protesters who rode buses from state to state, challenging racial segregation and Jim Crow travel laws. The Freedom Riders were usually arrested, and fell victim to mob violence, Ku Klux Klan beatings, and cruel and unusual punishment in prison. Don't expect a secret agenda from Nicole, who will appear as a new series regular character this season. "A true bleeding heart," Nicole is "not at all concerned with money; she's concerned with the common good and doing what's right ... Life hasn't beaten her down yet." If you're still not getting a clear picture, the casting call suggests that she went to Bryn Mawr College and drives an old Saab." SOURCE Finally, some more casting news for Season 6 with the addition of actor Rob Kazinsky. I was hoping the show would FINALLY add Sookie's flame from the books, Quinn the were-tiger but apparently they've chosen to introduce this new stranger fairy to the mix. Come on writers please bring the show back to the books more!
True Blood has tapped English actor Rob Kazinsky (EastEnders) to join the Season 6 cast as a series regular, TVLine has learned. Alan Ball Drops First Season 6 Clues Kazinsky — whose biggest TV credit stateside was an arc as a doctor on Brothers & Sisters — will play Ben, a highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders. This marks True Blood‘s second major Season 6 hire. As TVLine reported last month, acting vet Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) has also come on board in the series regular role of Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. True Blood‘s sixth season is slated to premiere in June. SOURCE We finally have some casting news for next Season's True Blood! And its Tvline announcing the show bringing in well known actor Rutger Hauer. Who is definitely not new to the vampire genre with his past films. Can't wait to see his addition to the show!
Acting vet Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) is joining the HBO smash as a series regular, TVLine has learned exclusively Hauer will play Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. Hauer is well known for his portrayal of Blade Runner‘s Roy Batty, a renegade robot trying to evade capture in Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi film. But the Dutch actor has a varied resume that includes parts in movies like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Begins and Sin City and guest roles in TV’s Smallville and Alias. In 1988, he won a Golden Globe for his work in the TV movie Escape From Sobibor. True Blood‘s sixth season is slated to premiere in June. SOURCE |
